Our Story

The Fremont Area Management (Personnel) Association was formed to provide the interchange of ideas, experience and methods concerning the relationships between management and employees, and to promote professional ethics and acquaintanceship among those involved in professional personnel activities.

Membership is encouraged for any employee of a firm who is responsible for Human Resource issues, Managers, or Supervisors of employees.  The Association encourages membership in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).  

The original association was organized in the 1980’s by a Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce Committee in order to provide a resource to address the employment issues for small and large businesses.  Within 10 years of being founded, it was organized as an independent organization to be known as Fremont Area Personnel Association and later renamed Fremont Area Managers Association to expand membership to managers as well as Human Resource personnel.

In 2017, the Executive Committee began searching for a way to increase membership and sustain the organization.  After approval by the membership in May 2017 it was approved to become supported by HRAM.


FAMA Programs consist of a one hour keynote by a local speaker, with lunch provided.  They are held the second Thursday of each specified month at the First State Bank & Trust Company Education Center located at 1005 E. 23rd Street, Fremont, NE.
