HRAM members are human resource professionals in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area. Classified as a “super-mega” chapter, the Human Resource Association of the Midlands (HRAM) is one of the largest affiliated chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), a remarkable achievement for an organization located in a metro area of its size.
The original association was organized in 1948 to give personnel administrators a clearinghouse for the exchange of information and ideas. The organization began to grow geographically and ten years after its formation, the association joined other HR professionals in a national organization. That organization later became SHRM, the leading voice of the human resource profession, representing the interests of more than 300,000 professional and student members in more than 165 countries.
Since its inception, HRAM has grown from nine founding members to more than 1,000 members representing over 500 employers. It is a volunteer organization guided by a Board of Directors and five committees. Each committee is dedicated to developing and enlarging the organization. Each committee is led by a vice president and the current HRAM president.
HRAM serves and advances the greater Omaha HR community through professional development and networking opportunities. Building HR professionals, one member at a time.
